About the James Banks Foundation

Founded in 2018, the James Banks Foundation (JBF) is a private foundation based in Chicago, Illinois. JBF provides financial support and loyal partnership to animal welfare organizations around the world. James Banks, a legendary businessman who first made a name for himself as a trailblazer in the field of healthcare, founded JBF to fulfill his true passion, a fondness for animals that has spanned his lifetime.

Jim’s favorite quote: “Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind’s capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because they have rights or power or some claim to equality, but in a sense because they don’t, because they all stand unequal and powerless before us.” - Matthew Scully, a former literary editor of National Review and speech writer for President George W. Bush.
